PM Modi will gift high speed regional train and metro to Meerut city of UP today.

Meerut. Meerut, the land of revolution, is once again going to witness a historic moment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a big gift to ‘Namo Bharat’ (RRTS) and ‘Meerut Metro’ during his 135-minute stay in Meerut on Sunday. This is not only a major achievement for Western Uttar Pradesh but also a unique example of transportation technology at the global level. This project being launched by the Prime Minister has many such features which make it different from other cities of the country.

For the first time in India, ‘NaMo Bharat’ (regional rapid transit system) and ‘Meerut Metro’ will operate on the same infrastructure and tracks. Meerut Metro will be one of the fastest metro services in the country, with a design speed of 135 km/hr and operational speed of up to 120 km/hr. The journey between Sahibabad and Meerut will now be completed in minutes, due to which the feeling of distance between Delhi-NCR and Meerut will be eliminated. NaMo Bharat and Metro stations have been equipped with world-class amenities such as Platform Screen Doors (PSDs), high-speed WiFi and smart ticketing.

CM Yogi inspected
On Saturday, a day before the inauguration program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Meerut and closely inspected Rapid’s project site Shatabdi Nagar, Meerut South Station and the venue of the event. After inspecting both the stations, the Chief Minister held a meeting with the officials at the public meeting venue and finalized the security and arrangements. He clarified that this corridor will not only reduce the distance but will also provide new impetus to the progress of Uttar Pradesh. XThe opening of this corridor will not only result in huge savings in travel time, but will also have multi-dimensional effects.

He said that a new chapter is going to be added in the history of traffic and infrastructure of Western Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grandly inaugurate the new section of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) i.e. ‘Rapid Metro’. The opening of this corridor will not only result in huge savings in travel time, but will also have multi-dimensional effects.

Public meeting and address
After the inauguration the Prime Minister will address a huge public meeting. In this speech of about 50 minutes, he will share the future vision for Meerut and Western Uttar Pradesh. From arrival in Meerut till departure, the Prime Minister will stay in Meerut for 105 minutes, which is going to be recorded in golden letters in the history of the city.

route diversion
There will be route diversion in Meerut on Sunday due to the Prime Minister’s program. There will be complete restriction of vehicular movement between Ghaziabad-Meerut on Delhi-Dehradun Highway from 6 am to 6 pm. At the same time, vehicles will continue to run on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Vehicles going from Meerut to Ghaziabad will be sent to Ghaziabad via Hapur. ATS, STF and Intelligence units have been put on alert.

Vehicles going from Meerut to Delhi
– Vehicles going from Meerut city to Delhi will not go to Delhi Road. All vehicles will be able to go from Meerut city via Modipuram Bridge, Sardhana Bridge, Rohta Bridge, Baghpat Bridge via NH-58 and Kashi Toll Plaza via Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
Vehicles going from Meerut city to Delhi will be able to go to Delhi from Hapur via Delhi-Moradabad Highway via Bijli Bamba intersection.

Vehicles coming from Delhi to Meerut city
– Vehicles coming from Delhi to Meerut city will be able to reach Meerut city via expressway from Kashi toll plaza via NH-58.
– Vehicles coming from Delhi to Meerut city will be able to come to Meerut city from Bijli Bamba intersection from Hapur via Delhi Moradabad Highway.
– Vehicles coming/going from Meerut to Delhi will not be able to enter Meerut city via Delhi Road from Partapur Interchange.
– Any type of emergency services and ambulance will not be disrupted during traffic management.
– No vehicle will be allowed to come from Modinagar towards Meerut. All vehicles will go through Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
– No vehicle will move from Partapur Interchange towards Modinagar-Delhi on NH-58. All vehicles will come and go through Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

Intelligence units alert including ATS and STF
ATS, STF and Intelligence Unit have been alerted. SPG has taken over the entire responsibility of security. The team and local police are on alert regarding local input. The area around the meeting place will be kept under complete police surveillance.
